Rules:
Teams will play one match every week, each consisting of 19 points. At the end of each match the home team captain will phone or text in the scores to the number on the score sheet (304-488-2874). Scores may also be emailed to mike@wvdarts.com The standing will be posted weekly on www.wvdarts.com. All teams will qualify for the end of season playoffs.
RULES:
A team consists of 4-8 players. At least 4 players must show up for a match in order to keep from forfeiting certain games. If a player scheduled to play a game is going to be late and both captains agree, that game may be skipped and came back to when he/she arrives. However if he/she does not show up, that game will be forfeited.
The score sheet is divided into 5 sections:
1) 4 single 301 games - double in/double out
2) 4 single cricket games
3) 2 double 601 games - double in/double out
4) 2 double cricket games
5) 1 four player 801 game - free in/double out
A player may play only once in each of the 5 sections. Lineups will be filled out for every game before the match begins. Changes may only be made if both captains agree.
Each game will begin with the visiting player calling a coin toss. The winner of the coin toss chooses which player diddles first. The closest to the bullseye will start the game. When diddling, all outer bullseyes are equal and all double bullseyes are equal. I.E. If both players hit the outer bull the diddle is tied even if one is touching the inside wire and one is touching the outside wire. Anytime the diddle is tied, the darts are pulled and the diddle is repeated with the shooting order reversed.
While playing a match game a player's turn is over anytime they touch a dart in the dartboard. Only darts with the points touching the dartboard when the player touches their 1st dart on the dartboard are scored.
Any top high-in and high-out scores from the 301 or 601 game, and the high-out score from the the 801 games will be filled in. Any player throwing a 180 (three triple 20's) in one turn shall also have his/her name added to the score sheet. Also, any player throwing a tricket (three triples in a cricket game - all nine marks must score) will be added to the list. When the scores are called in these names will be reported.
After a match is completed the scores will be totaled and both captains will sign the score sheet. Each captain will receive a copy to keep in case a question comes up concerning team scores. When the home team captain phones in the results of a match, he/she will also include any 180s, trickets, high-in or high-out scores.
In the case of a tie between two teams at the end of season, the winner of the match played during that season will be the higher ranked team. In the case of a multiple tie, points will be totaled from the matches of the teams involved to determine the higher ranking.
Matches will begin at 7:30 p.m. with a 15-minute grace period for tardiness. IF A MATCH IS NOT PLAYED BY THE TIME IT IS SCHEDULED, THE TEAM UNABLE TO ATTEND WILL FORFEIT 19 POINTS. BOTH CAPTAINS CAN AGREE TO PLAY THE MATCH BEFORE THE SCHEDULED TIME AND THE SCORE WILL COUNT. THERE WILL BE NO RESCHEDULING AFTER THE SCHEDULED TIME! Any team that forfeits 3 matches will be expelled from the league. The home team will be responsible for keeping score each game. Players must always keep track of the game score. A scoring mistake can be corrected before your next turn. Otherwise, the scoreboard will be considered correct. This is and always shall be a gentleman's league. Every game will begin and end with a handshake.
If a player is banned from a location, there is no provision to allow them into the location for league play. They will need to get a sub when they play at that location. If a player instigates a fight on dart league night, they are subject to a lifetime ban at the discretion of the PDL board of directors.
Good luck to all teams and let's all make this season a smooth one!
